A cursory look at the lives of several women intimately involved in the fight for human rights and self-determination of Afrikan peoples. From ante-bellum-era lynchings to modern-day police terrorism, these sistah-warriors ... daughters, mothers and grandmothers ... have used every method at their disposable to agitate and advocate for the rights of Black people, and all humans who are oppressed. For this, their ‘crime of resistance,’ they have had to pay a heavy price - exile from their families, their homes and their communities. In spite of this and other hardships, these women have carried on the tradition of resistance. Featuring: Ida B.Wells, Mabel Williams, Kathleen Cleaver, Charlotte O’Neal, Assata Shakur, Aisha Irungu
